The Centre on Wednesday told the Delhi high court that a citizen’s fundamental rights must be respected. In an affidavit filed on a plea by Twitter users Megh Bulletin and Wokeflix challenging the suspension of accounts by the platform, the government said a person’s liberty and freedom of expression cannot be “waylaid or jettisoned in the slipstream of social and technological advancement”, adding that suspension of accounts must be the last resort.

Icra cuts FY23 GDP growth estimate sharply to 7.2%

State-run fuel retailers raised fuel prices across the board on Tuesday, a day after BJP completed selecting chief ministers in all the four states it won in the recent assembly polls. IC-814 hijacker who killed flyer shot in Karachi
Zahoor Mistry Ibrahim, considered the most brutal among the five Indian Airlines flight IC-814 hijackers, was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in Pakistan’s Karachi on March 1. Ibrahim, a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist, was living with an assumed identity of Zahid Akhund, under the ISI’s protection.
