Odisha has highest dropout rate at secondary school level

Odisha (27.3%) has the highest dropout rate at secondary school level followed by Meghalaya (21.7%), Bihar (20.5%), and Assam (20.3%). While the all India dropout rate at this stage of schooling is 12.6%, states like West Bengal, Punjab, Nagaland, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh have dropout rates of over 15%. The figures were cited in the Rajya Sabha by the ministry of education.

CUET scores soar, college admissions to get tougher

With more than 22,000 students scoring 100 percentile in the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2023, the competition for undergraduate admissions in the 2023-24 academic year is set to be extremely tough. The last day for linking PAN with biometric Aadhaar on paying a late fee of Rs 1,000 is June 30, 2023. From July 1, 2023, PAN will become inoperative for individuals who have failed to link it with Aadhaar and TDS and TCS will be deducted at a higher rate.
