The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) slammed Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s call to eradicate ‘Sanatan Dharma’ and warned of serious consequences, saying some politicians were daydreaming about the Sanatan which the Mughals, missionaries and the British could not destroy. “I am surprised by both the language and the spirit of the statement of the Tamil Nadu chief minister’s son and state minister Udhayanidhi Stalin," VHP president Alok Kumar said.

J&K reinstates lecturer suspended over SC appearance in Article 370 case
Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, a government higher secondary school lecturer who had been punished for appearing before the Supreme Court to advocate against the repeal of Article 370, was suspended just days after the Constitution bench hearing the petitions questioned whether the penalty against him was "retribution." Bhat, who teaches political science at a state-run higher secondary school in Srinagar's Jawahar Nagar and also holds a law degree, was referred to as a "delinquent officer" when he was suspended on August 25.

Union home minister Amit Shah released on Saturday a "black paper" of 69 allegations against the Bhupesh Baghel government in Chhattisgarh and warned that BJP will "hang the corrupt upside down to straighten them out" if voted into government. Reformation main aim of justice system: Bilkis case convict to SC
One of the 11 convicts, all of whom have been granted remission in the case of gang rape of Bilkis Bano and killing of 14 of her family members during the 2002 Gujarat riots, told the Supreme Court on Thursday that reformation is the main purpose of criminal justice system and that there was no error in the decision of the Gujarat government in granting them the same.

Neeraj Chopra finishes second in Zurich Diamond League
Newly-crowned world champion Neeraj Chopra was not at his best but still finished second with a final round throw of 85.71m in the men's javelin event of the Diamond League Meeting here on Thursday. The 25-year-old Chopra, also the reigning Olympic champion, produced three legal throws of 80.79m, 85.22m and 85.71m while the remaining three were fouls.
