NGT fines K'taka Rs 2,900cr for lapses in waste management

Coming down heavily on the Karnataka government for failing to check environmental pollution by ensuring effective solid waste and sewage management systems, the National Green Tribunal ordered it to pay Rs 2,900 crore as compensation. Amul milk prices up, Guj spared; Mother Dairy too hikes rates

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, which markets milk under the Amul brand, has hiked the prices of Amul Gold (full cream) and buffalo milk by Rs 2 per litre each across all markets except for Gujarat. Mother Dairy also announced an increase in prices of full-cream milk and cow milk by Rs 2 per litre in Delhi-NCR and some other markets in North India with effect from October 16.
