India has successfully isolated a sample of SARS-CoV-2 virus containing the BF.7, a sub-lineage of the Omicron variant, which is suspected to be behind the surge in Covid-19 cases in several countries including China. The Karnataka State Higher Education Council unanimously resolved to allow students to write in the language they prefer in line with the National Education Policy's concept of higher education being available in regional language. Fed lifts rates by half percentage point
