Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s tenuous ties with his deputy DK Shivakumar were put to test again on Tuesday when their ministerial colleague MB Patil, known to be a loyalist of the former, claimed that the high command had already decided the chief ministership wouldn’t be split. Shivakumar, who reluctantly gave in to the party leadership’s cajoling after a five-day stand-off over the CM’s post, responded to Patil’s claim with a terse “let people say whatever they want”
