The 40-odd Muslim residents of northeast Delhi's Ashok Nagar found brotherhood and hope amid the smouldering ruins of their homes after a 1,000-strong mob damaged the only six Muslim households in the colony near Badi Masjid. The mosque was also set on fire. Nonetheless, homeless families are now being supported by their Hindu neighbours and are living with them.
